Center Development
1. Cooperation and Services
(1) Research Focus
After its establishment, the center will set up a website to serve as a communication platform for all sectors to engage with the center. It will invite industry-academia professionals to discuss and determine research directions. The center also plans to actively recruit top scholars and outstanding talents to join the team, enhancing the center's research capabilities. Furthermore, the center will organize related seminars annually to facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge among industry, government, and academia participants. It will also recruit cooperative firms to incorporate practical industry experience into research projects, enabling the transfer of research outcomes to the industry for application. Additionally, the center's director and deputy director are internationally renowned deputy editors of Q1-level SCI/SSCI journals in their fields, having served as fellows, presidents, and chapter leaders of important international professional associations, possessing significant international influence. Many researchers in the team are young scholars, making the team youthful, dynamic, and deeply committed to future goals. The center hopes to exchange and cooperate with big data research centers of other schools, forming alliance partnerships, sharing research insights and outcomes, making this center a major hub for big data research in the Yunlin–Chiayi–Tainan region.
(2) Talent Development
The team currently has international degree programs in finance, e-commerce, information and communication security, financial technology, and big data, along with developing programs in innovation, entrepreneurship, AI, and computer auditing. By integrating external credit programs and leveraging excellent teaching and research resources, the center provides an excellent environment for talent cultivation.
(3) Industry-Academia Collaboration
Through the Chung Cheng academic foundation, alumni associations, industrial and commercial associations, Lions Clubs, Rotary Clubs, and the International Association of Business Executives, the team connects with local businesses, creating strong local networks. The team also collaborates with representative companies in fintech and digital governance, including EasyCard Corporation, the Ministry of Finance's Fiscal Information Center, the Securities and Futures Institute, Mega Securities, PwC, Systex Corporation, Polaris Financial Technology Group, Taiwan Life Insurance, and DBS Bank. The industry–academia collaboration and local networking are mature. Additionally, the team works closely with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), leveraging ITRI's research achievements to provide services to local industries and innovative entrepreneurship projects for teachers and students.
(4) Innovation and Entrepreneurship
In addition to professional manpower and financial support from the university, the big data research center's environment will be renovated, and spaces for industry–academia research will continue to be provided for future development. The center also aims to connect with the university's innovation and entrepreneurship base, attract venture capital support for potential startup teams, and join leading domestic enterprises to enhance industrial technology efficiency, fostering innovative startups.
(5) Social Responsibility
The center's past R&D achievements have been successfully applied to the university's electric vehicle operation plan. The team will continue to apply research outcomes to the development of a smart campus at the university. In the future, the center will collaborate with the governments of Chiayi City and County, combining resources from National Chung Cheng University and surrounding academic districts to improve infrastructure, establishing a city-level electric scooter sharing service and promoting new businesses.
(6) International Contributions
Many members of the team, both from within and outside the university, actively participate in relevant international organizations, holding significant positions, serving as editors and reviewers for international journals, and organizing important international academic conferences. The College of Management is also actively expanding international exchanges, having established academic cooperation with many top universities worldwide through dual degree programs and student exchanges. The center aims to keep abreast of international big data developments, understand global trends, and plan for the development of emerging industries in the Yunlin–Chiayi–Tainan region and Taiwan. The center will actively seek cooperation opportunities with international firms, expand the international industry–academia alliance, join international organizations and associations, share local models internationally, and enhance the international visibility of Chiayi and National Chung Cheng University, promoting international exchanges for the university and Chiayi.
